ALS (and More) Ice Bucket Challenge

ALS (and More) Ice Bucket Challenge

Last weekend I was nominated on Facebook for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Then, when my friend nominated me, I found myself with a whole lot of resistance to participate in this campaign. It wasn’t that I don’t believe in raising awareness about chronic illnesses (anyone who knows my personal story know’s I’ll talk about my experiences freely to educate and enlighten others). It wasn’t even about not wanting to pour ice cold water on myself (I’ve been known to take a 10 minute ice bath after rigorous workouts).

So, I found myself wondering, “Where was this resistance coming from?” I decided to give myself the space to sit with it and figure out the root cause of this before I even considered participating in the challenge.

One Year After Ayahuasca

One Year After Ayahuasca

On this day last year, I boarded a plane traveling to Peru for the adventure of a lifetime after recognizing a series of synchronistic events that were very obviously guiding me in that direction.  The only plan I made was to spend one month at an ayahuasca healing center deep in the Amazon rainforest, since my intuition was telling me not to make plans for afterwards.  I felt called to let go of my need for certainty, to let go of my desire to have a plan, to trust that there was a divine plan that the universe was orchestrating on my behalf.

Why I'm Becoming A Certified Doula

Why I'm Becoming A Certified Doula

In our society, we've collectively forgotten the beauty and sacredness of the process and experience of conception, pregnancy, and birth. We've forgotten that incarnation into the human form is not an accident, it is a gift that allows us to co-create with the universe itself. We've disconnected from our intuitive knowing that all life is sacred and that a mysterious force is guiding it's unfolding.
